Jeff is a writer by training and a marketing expert by experience. Prior to establishing the Bradford Group in 2000, he served as senior vice president of a large advertising and public relations agency and executive vice president of a regional public relations agency.
He has always worked in words, and made them work for others. In his 20s he ran a weekly newspaper and reported for a daily paper. In college, he edited the literary magazine and founded the school’s first publishing press – using the magazine’s printing budget to buy a letterpress, which he spent the summer learning how to use, and gaining a deep appreciation for typography in the bargain.
He is a member of the largest chapter in the nation of the Entrepreneur’s Organization, the Nashville chapter, where he has also served on the board, and he is a founding board member of Knowledge Academies, a public charter school in Nashville. He also serves on the boards of Safe Haven Family Shelter, You Have the Power and the Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America Middle Tennessee Council, where he is a member of the Centennial Capital Campaign Cabinet.
The Nashville Business Journal named him one of the city’s Most Admired CEOs for each of the last five years, from 2014 through 2018. He is a graduate of Leadership Nashville, where he served as program chair, a former board member of the Nashville Junior Chamber of Commerce, named Volunteer of the Year by the Nashville Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Forbes Agency Council. He has chaired citywide and statewide events, managing thousands of volunteers and raising millions of dollars.
Jeff earned his bachelor of arts in English, with philosophy minor, from Centre College of Kentucky, where he was named to the Dean’s List and College Council, among other honors.
