January 28, 2020 Natalie A. Kilgore

Hayden Yates

We’re excited to welcome our Spring 2020 intern Hayden Yates to the team! A Nashville native, Hayden has already proven to be an awesome asset to the Bradford Group. We sat down with Hayden and asked 12 quick questions to learn more about our newest team member.

Where are you from and where do you attend college?

I’m originally from Nashville. I went to Fontbonne University in Saint Louis, MO.

When and with what degree will you graduate?

I was a marketing major with a minor in strategic communications. I finished my studies in December and will walk in May.

What do you like most about Nashville?

The skyline.

What do you like most about public relations?

The subtlety of it. It’s quite different from the world of digital advertising and I really prefer that.

Do you have any unique hobbies?

I really enjoy running in my free time and cooking.

What are you most looking forward to getting from your internship at the Bradford Group?

Real life experience in the PR field. My coursework has prepared me for this career, but there’s only so much you can learn in a classroom.

What three words best describe your personality?

Hmmmm. . .I’d say loud, humorous and occasionally sarcastic.

If you could time travel to the past or future, where would you go and why?

I’d go to 1970’s New York. It was just such a strange time period considering the social and political changes that were occurring.

What’s your favorite piece of literature and why?

I really enjoy any of the poems by John Keats or other British authors and poets from his time period.

Where’s your favorite place to eat in Nashville?

There’s this little family-run pizza place on Old Hickory Blvd called Sal’s. I love their NY style pizza. Also, $3 a slice isn’t terrible either.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a cardiothoracic surgeon. Honestly, this came out of me watching an alarming amount of “Grey’s Anatomy” and taking anatomy my senior year in high school. I was briefly a nursing major and then a pre-med major as a freshman in college. Ultimately, I decided against it.

What’s one thing on your bucket list you want to accomplish in your lifetime?

Pay off all my student debt and not be in debt for anything else.
