Upping the profile for Tennessee’s mobile powerhouse


Located in the unlikely tech market of Franklin, Tenn., Metova, Inc. is a custom mobile application developer with high profile clients that include some of the world’s most respected brands. Literally millions of people use apps developed by Metova.

When the Bradford Group started working with Metova, the firm had just landed itself on the 2011 Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the country—one of only five companies in Tennessee to be included on the magazine’s 500 list.

Unfortunately, because of Metova’s own low profile, national, regional and even local awareness of the firm was almost nonexistent and had confirmed its revenue stream to two sources: referrals and Google AdWords.

It was our job to leverage Metova’s inclusion on the Inc. 500 to raise the company’s national profile and get potential clients to look to a small market in Tennessee for mobile app expertise.

The Bradford Group helped Metova position itself as the undisputed 800-pound gorilla of the mobile app business, expanding awareness of the Metova brand throughout its target markets, both regionally and nationally. We deployed a variety of public relations tactics that centered on publicity and awards and professional recognition.

Publicity: Generating local, national and trade publicity for Metova was the backbone of Metova’s strategy. The Bradford Group solicited interviews from leading national business and industry reporters, and Metova employees were quoted in publications and news websites, including Forbes.com, EContent and SD Times.

We also helped Metova draft bylined columns on mobile industry topics, securing their publication in trade outlets like NextGen Mobility magazine and Mobile Marketing Daily.

Local publications like the Nashville Business Journal, Nashville Post and Nashville Ledger featured the firm, penning articles with classic headlines such as “There’s a local app for that.”

In June 2012, Metova Founder Kevin Ross landed the cover of Nashville Post magazine.
